Employers Advantages using New Horizons
Disability Employment Network

New Horizons Employment is a full-service employment agency. Just like other recruitment agencies, we recruit, select, screen and shortlist candidates. But we do a lot more than that too.

The New Horizons Employment advantage

New Horizons Employment is a federally funded, not-for profit initiative that places people with disabilities or barriers to employment into work. Our experienced consultants have long and successful track records placing our job seekers in the right job, and the right environment.

Here's just some of what we do:

  • supply you with enthusiastic people who want to work
  • analyse job tasks so our people do exactly the work you require
  • provide pre-job and on-site training and support so your new employee adapts quickly to the role
  • secure funding and install and monitor use of modifications or adaptive technologies if required
  • give candidates on and off-site assistance even after they become your employee, and
  • support you throughout the entire process.

Success stories

If you've never employed a person with a disability or barrier to employment before and are wondering what it's all about, take a look at our testimonials page which features articles about our clients and their employers.

The next step

Check out the Benefits for Employers to find out how employing a person with a disability can help your organisation grow.

Then call New Horizons Employment on (07) 4783 3966 or email info@newhorizonsemployment.com.au

We'll answer all your questions and help you find the right people for your business.

How a New Horizons Employment employee
can benefit your business.

The right staff

Workers with a disability are often shown to be more safety conscious, reliable and loyal.

Statistics common to countries where people with disabilities are actively employed show they tend to:

  • report fewer work place health and safety incidents
  • be more flexible in their working hours
  • take fewer sick days, and
  • stay longer in their jobs.

Good news for your bottom line

As New Horizons Employment is federally funded, our services are free - which means immediate savings on regular recruitment costs such as advertising, screening and selection.

But that's not all - we'll undertake a job and work site analysis on your behalf and provide our candidate with pre-employment training and, where needed, on-site job training.

New Horizons Employment continues to support our candidates even after they've become your employee and are available for consultation as required.

We'll also help you access the Workplace Modification subsidy if our candidate needs a particular work aid, and in some cases, we may be able to help off-set initial training costs with an additional subsidy.

Good news for your community

Those employers who include people with a disability in their organisation often report an increase in consumer appreciation and staff satisfaction as well as their bottom line.

It's a great way to foster inclusion and ensure your business makes a positive contribution to your community.
